Every October the family visits a local Pumpkin Patch. The kids look forward to the corn maze, hay ride, and picking out their pumpkin to carve! Just another family tradition that I hope our kids will never tire of, and eventually carry on with their own families one day.
When we are ready to carve, we read The Pumpkin Patch Parable. The kids enjoy every step, especially taking out the “gooey” and creating the pumpkin faces for the light to shine through. Not to forget to mention, the delicious pumpkin seeds to snack on afterward!
We hope that you had a wonderful month of October with your families! And we look forward to a thankful November as we reflect on all that we are grateful for; blessings big and small!

Jamberry Nails Teal Mini Polka and Vintage Chic
This Manicure Monday I am featuring one of my customers and her dear daughter! (Thank you so much for sharing this sweet picture with me. It brings me great joy!)
One of the best things I love about Jamberry Nails is that they make a product for little ones! This creates a wonderful bonding experience for a mom and her daughter. If you missed my post about Jamberry Juniors, you can read about it here, where I share my own experience with my daughter.
There are at least 10 Junior designs that will be discontinued at the end of the month. See my previous post for the list of retiring wraps to make sure you stock up on your favorite designs before they are forever gone!
Have a wonderful week!

Every summer the kids work on some extended learning workbooks such as these:
Summer Bridge Activities
Summer Link Math Plus Reading
We also let them pick out something fun from the bookstore as a reward for a successful school year, and a kick-off to summer! This year the girls picked a journal to write their thoughts and doodle.
Here are some similar diaries and one for boys too!
All About Me Lock & Key Diary
Doodle Sketchbook: Art Journaling for Boys
Visiting the local library is a regular weekly treat throughout the year, but over the summer months we add audio books to our checkout pile. These are a few that our family has enjoyed over the years:
Island of the Blue Dolphins
The Runaway Dolls
Because of Winn-Dixie
A short list for reading pleasure and read aloud:
Crown and Jewel
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
A Visitor for Bear
A Bedtime for Bear
We would love to hear your recommendations! Our summer has just begun!
